But this is also when rivers are moving dangerously fast during the snow melt and important time to be vigilant. The middle of may and californias rivers are moving fast and cold. Its a dangerous time to be in the water and First Responders have been busy. The waters of the San Joaquin River in stanislaw county clarmed the life of a 30 yearold woman after she jumped in the water to save her 11 yearold daughter. Weve had, you know, multiple. Fatality incidents just in the last week contra costa county, a 5 yearold boy drowned over the weekend on Bethel Island. Larr
Sheriffs department responded to the incident saturday afternoon. Neighbors tell us the boy was visiting family kron fours jack moment. Reports. Responders rushed to bethel i island. Reports of a 5 yearold drowned in bethel island. We had a young male drowned. Landing over there. John sullivan, a neighbor says each of these homes has a dock news hitting close to his home. He says this tragedy was praying for you know, it didnt work youre the rescuers did the best they could. Neighbors tell us the boy was visiting relatives in the complex and fell off the dock in the back of the home. So neighbors say a drowning like what happened here on friday is really uncommon. Some of them have been living here for years and say theyve never seen anything like it. But they also said at the same time, water safety is at the top of mind spreading sand words of advice for people who have boats just like this one. Im very sad about it.
