That is where this protest and rally has been going on for the last. Our theres been many different speakers here. You can see all the various signs as well. This is the area that students have been camping out for weeks now. This encampment, a propalestine protest. They said theyve been protesting. Theyve been doing walks, marches, writing letters for 7 months of this war and they will not stop until there is a ceasefire. As you said, the anchors there, there all the signs about people saying all eyes on rafah because many are saying here at this protest theres only 3 days left for food in some of those minute tearing needs. So theyre very worried about those involved. Fun is theyre not going to stop until again. Theres a ceasefire look right now. You can its a packed this entire plaza. Weve seen this here with boots on the ground weeks now. And you can see that they have signs on the buildings here. Theres several faculty members as well here in support of students protesting in support of palestinians as well. Many here saying they want institutions like uc berkeley, the state of california and United States to stop funding the war and stop funding israel. Now we are going to continue to talk to some of the people here were protesting, especially when some of the speakers wrapped up. There are also calling on israel to stay out of the rafah Border Crossing israel says it told more than 100,000 People Living in eastern rafah to evacuate ahead of air strikes overnight. Police say it all began just before 08 00am kron. 4 news has confirmed an employee with urban alchemy was hit while walking near the intersection of jones and market tire marks are clearly visible in the intersection. The victim was taken to a local hospital and will survive. Police say a few blocks away. Officers spotted the suspects vehicle driving recklessly when the suspect failed to yield. But officers initiated a traffic stop. Police say a vehicle pursuit began about 9. 30. The chase reached Francisco Middle School supervisor. Aaron peskin tells kron 4 its there. The suspect clipped a 14 yearold girl who was crossing francisco street from the main campus to the auxiliary campus. So the girl was crossing the street from building to building and was in the crosswalk. And the guy was running out of, you know, running. Because the police often. So put the good here. If theyre going come running girl was taken to San Francisco general hospital. With a fractured shoulder and ankle but will survive. Its at that point. Police say they shut down the chase due to the safety risk. Minutes later, officers spotted the suspects vehicle stopped and embarcadero and green. Its there. They took the suspect into custody. Again at this point to San Francisco police not releasing the name of the suspect. Of course, this brings up the question. A vehicle pursuits by police in certain circumstances. San Francisco Police are allowed to conduct vehicle pursuits. The question is, did they follow those protocols in this chase that led to a 14 yearold girl outside a middle school being hit. Tonight, a man is dead and another is in custody following a horrible accident in san jose. According to police, a man driving a truck was speeding this morning on capitol expressway when he ran a red light at center and hit a cyclist, his truck then lost control and hit another car. The cyclist was killed while being arrested. A Ghost Gun Police say was recovered in the drivers possession. He was taken into custody so far. We dont know what if any charges, the driver will face the identity of the cyclist has not yet been released. New at 5 or clay city manager dean williams. Ridley has resigned after 9 years on the job. Williams ridley will stay on until july 10th after which time the city council is going to consider appointing an interim city manager before hiring a permanent replacement.
