On Monday evening, (April 4th) Galesburg Police responded to the 200 block of West Tompkins Street for reports of a disturbance. A 36-year old male resident of Moon Towers told police that 29-year old Jesse Mustain had been on the property all day making people feel uncomfortable by staring at them. When the man confronted Mustain about not being allowed on the property, Mustain pulled a knife and held it to the man's neck. A 55-year old female resident witnessed the altercation. When she saw Mustain inside the building later, she also told him to leave and he pulled the knife out again and started walking toward her. The woman said she wasn't scared of Mustain and started walking toward him. He departed when the woman didn't back down from him, according to police reports. Galesburg Police located Mustain on the Public Square and he was taken into custody. He was charged with a valid Knox County warrant and two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
