As low as those feels like temperatures went in the core of this cold blast, its going to be worse by new years day. Up here in camelbin back and poconos, its going to be feel like its 20 below zero on new years morning. The first alert covers the entire area as weve been saying. Its a double whammy here. The snow part starts Early Saturday Morning and the worst of the bitter cold ends about 8 00 a. M. On tuesday. Subzero wind chills through much of the area with this cold air mass. The amount of snow, not as big a deal as the slipperiness. Its moving fairly quickly, its a sure bet its coming in. Anyway, were looking at satellite and you can see theres a lot of sunshine out there and generally speaking were in fairly good shape this morning. We are below freezing however and some of those sidewalks that didnt quite get totally deiced yesterday could have a problem as we go into the morning commute with these temperatures 26 might have some icy patches on some sidewalks here and there. As we go through the day, well, do be careful early on for those icy sidewalks. Roads mainly okay but karen is going to tell you there are some icy patches here or there. Generally the situation is better than yesterday but you should still use caution especially as youre walking around. Some of those sidewalks might have been partially dry but on the edges theres still ice. As we go through the day though were improving. Below freezing through 9, 10 oclock this morning. Getting up to 34 by 11 oclock. 38 by 1 oclock and i think these numbers are going to trend a little bit higher. This model has 40 at about 3 oclock.
