BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Friday is the deadline for Governor Kay Ivey’s face mask order. Many expect the governor will extend it. Still doctors are already fighting a myth, that once you get your vaccine shot, you don’t need to wear a mask.
It is a myth. Yes people are lining up to get their vaccine shots, still, a top public health doctor said that does not mean you can get rid of your face mask after one or even two shots.

Local doctors are getting frantic calls daily from patients diagnosed with COVID-19 wondering what they should do when they start feeling sick.
Doctors said if you experience loss of taste or smell, fevers, chills and aches, one of the best things you can do initially is treat the symptoms.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - The latest data from the Alabama Department of Public Healthâs risk indicator dashboard shows Jefferson County in the âlow riskâ category.
Medical Director of Disease Control for Jefferson County, Dr. Wesley Willeford, said while we are seeing a bit of a downturn in the number of new COVID-19 cases, he said weâre not out of the woods just yet.
Dr. Willeford is cautiously optimistic about the latest data from the Alabama Department of Public Healthâ¦comparing the data to a weathervane.
Doctors have been saying all along that you could possibly experience some side effects after getting a COVID-19 vaccine, but those side effects could be proof that the vaccine is working.
