Apr. 24 The downward trend in Idaho s COVID-19 caseload continued on Friday, with the state recording 190 new cases, the lowest daily addition since March 6, according to updated data from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
The state s seven-day moving average of new cases fell to 202. A month ago, that average was 302.
The bulk of new cases Friday were added in Ada (61 new, 51,078 total), Canyon (19 new, 26,240 total), Elmore (17 new, 1,952 total) and Kootenai (19 new, 17,603 total) counties. Still, in Ada County, the seven-day moving average fell to 70.6, down from 105.4 on April 12.
WESTERN TREASURE VALLEY â Even with new variant of COVID-19 making themselves known in the world, the rate of spread in Idaho remains stable. Only 210 cases were reported statewide on Thursday, and among its long-term care facilities that number is even lower.
According to the Idaho Department of Health & Welfareâs weekly summary report for April 16, there have now been 9,469 total cases shared by 319 outbreaks. While this represents two new outbreaks over the week prior, it also represents an increase of only 30 cases.
264 outbreaks have been resolved, 18 of which only involved one case among staff members or residents.Â
Presently, 2,784 COVID-19 cases remain active in 55 of these facilities. 786 deaths have been reported in 177 facilities.

WESTERN TREASURE VALLEY â As COVID-19 cases trend upward nationwide, Idahoâs long-term care facilities are seeing upticks in cases themselves. According to the Idaho Department of Health & Welfareâs weekly summary report dated April 2, the statewide case count in these facilities reached 9,370 and the number of affected facilities was at 317.Â
This week saw the first new outbreak reported statewide since March 12, and a total of 94 new cases were added over the total reported March 26. However, ten more facilities saw their outbreaks resolved, for a total of 254 resolved outbreaks.
As of April 2, 3,343 cases of COVID-19 remain active in 63 facilities. 177 facilities have experienced a combined 779 deaths.
