The coldest air comes in overnight through Wednesday morning. Temperatures will fall into the 20s all across the Florida Panhandle. Inland areas may see temperatures reach 23 degrees or lower. For this reason, a Hard Freeze Warning has been issued. You should be actively preparing to protect your plants, pets, pipes and vulnerable people (children, elderly) from the freezing cold conditions. Unfortunately, there will also be a wind out of the north up to 15 mph tomorrow morning, too, making it feel even colder than the actual temperature. The wind chill will be in the teens. Thus, we have a Wind Chill Advisory.
We're off to a cold start this morning with temperatures falling near freezing inland. If you think this is cold, you haven't seen anything yet. We'll be in the 20s Wednesday morning with wind chills in the teens. That's why our central counties are under a Hard Freeze Watch and a Wind Chill Advisory. Thankfully, today will be pretty nice. I encourage you to get out and enjoy your MLK Jr. Day with temperatures in the 60s this afternoon.
During the late morning hours and into the afternoon, another cold front is likely to sweep through the area. That front could bring a chance for strong or severe storms. This system does not look as promising for significant severe weather here in the Panhandle, unlike Tuesday’s frontal boundary. There’s a good chance we might not see much or anything severe here, but it is always good to be prepared and weather aware, especially after our strong tornadoes on Tuesday. If there are any strong or severe storms in northwest Florida, the threats would include damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornado risk.

We're in for a pretty nice day across the Panhandle with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures reaching the mid-50s. Winds will be dropping in speed, coming from the west/northwest at no more than 10 mph. Tomorrow, moisture will increase with winds shifting southeast. Cloud cover is expected to build up, too. More rainfall is back in the forecast Friday with our next cold front that could produce some severe weather locally.
