Temperatures trend below normal this week

Temperatures will reach the upper 50s and low 60s this afternoon under a mostly sunny sky. Upper-level clouds will stream in from the south later in the day. Overall, we’re in for a quiet and cool week. Temperatures will reach the low 60s each day with mostly dry weather in store through Friday. By the weekend, an area of low pressure may develop over the Gulf of Mexico and work some more wet weather into the Panhandle.

Weekend cold front brings rain and colder weather

Another weekend, another frontal system. This time, we'll really only be dealing with a cold front working its way into the Panhandle Saturday evening and clearing Sunday afternoon. Scattered showers are possible throughout the day Saturday, though the best chance for rain will be Saturday night to Sunday morning as the front actually pushes through our area. Rain will lessen as the front clear east through the day Sunday.

Frost/freeze overnight, warming into the weekend

A weak front has passed us, and high pressure is building to our north. Both are reinforcing cold air across the Southeastern region. Colder air coming in from the north at 15-25 mph today will keep our temperatures from climbing much. Highs will be in the mid-upper 50s. We'll see lots of sunshine, though! Tonight into tomorrow morning, temperatures could be near freezing, if not below freezing for the inland areas.

Temperature roller coaster this week

Good morning and happy Tuesday! We're off to a colder start compared to yesterday. Temperatures are mainly in the mid-40s. Low pressure to our east and high pressure to our west are both helping to bring a wind in out of the north. Northerly winds will push cooler air across the Panhandle today and the next few days. Sunnier skies are in today's forecast, but you'll notice temperatures don't trend as high as yesterday. High temperatures today should reach the low-mid 60s.

Cooler than normal temperatures sticking around

Locally, we'll see more sunshine through the day today as drier air pushes in from the northwest, moving the moisture east/southeast. Surface high pressure will also build across the Southeast today into tomorrow, resulting in a clear sky to start Thanksgiving. By tomorrow afternoon and evening, an area of low pressure will develop across the western Gulf of Mexico. It will attempt to churn up moisture from south to north, increasing cloud cover and potentially producing a few showers.
