Good morning and happy Tuesday! We're off to a relatively cool start to the day with temperatures in the mid-50s to low 60s. Winds are out of the northeast at 5-10 mph. They will increase to 10-15 mph today and shift east overall. The breeze will feel nice though with warm and sunny weather in store, though. Temperatures today will be similar to yesterday: low-mid 80s.
Good morning and happy Thursday! We're off to a little warmer start with temperatures mainly in the low 50s. Winds out of the east, shifting south will pump in some warmer air and more moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. Temperatures will trend higher than yesterday (mid-upper 70s), and cloud cover will also increase. A couple stray showers will be possible, too, but the rain chance sits at a mere 20%.
Our weather this week will be largely influenced by a ridge of high pressure building over the eastern half of the United States. Overall, temperatures the next several days will climb into the mid-upper 70s by Thursday and Friday while morning lows remain in the 40s and 50s. The winds are expected to lessen by Wednesday, but in the meantime, it will remain breezy. Additionally, there is no rainfall in the forecast until Friday, which creates a fire danger concern.
Good morning and happy Monday! We're off to a chilly start with temperatures down in the 40s and 50s across the Panhandle. The winds are also blowing in from the northwest at 5-10 mph and gusting between 15 and 25 mph. If it's too cold for your liking this morning, you'll probably enjoy the weather more through the afternoon as temperatures reach the upper 60s under a sunny sky.
While it will look and feel nice this weekend, there is a high threat for fire danger. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for central and eastern areas of the Panhandle until Saturday at 7 p.m. CDT. Very dry air behind the front, breezy conditions and a lack of significant rainfall locally for a long period of time will increase the risk of any outdoor fires spreading and becoming uncontrollable.
