Rains have been far away from many parts of North Indian Plains. So much so that the region has been experiencing dry weather. A couple of Western Disturbances will be seen approaching the Western Himalayas but the plains will not be affected as such.
On November 3 and 4, northern parts of Punjab and Haryana will see some light rains. On November 5, both spread and intensity will increase becoming moderate and rains may be seen over Delhi and other parts of Punjab and Haryana.
Western Disturbance across the mountains has moved away towards Western Himalayas. In the wake of the system, night temperatures along the foothills and adjoining plains may drop by few notches. The other parts, including the national capital may also dip below 15°C during remaining days of the month.
In view of the Western Disturbance, the fall in minimums will get arrested for now and may even rise by a degree. After its passage, a drop by 2-3 degrees in the minimums may be seen resulting in some nip in the air.
All this is indicative of the retreat of the Monsoon, which has anyway been delayed from northern parts. Now, Monsoon is expected to withdraw wherein major chunk of North India will be covered in the next few days. With the Monsoon retreat and dry weather, temperatures may be slightly higher than the previous days but they will not reach an uncomfortable range.
