The Illinois Student Assistance Commission has announced that Wayne City High School is the 2023 Recognition of Excellence from the Illinois Student Assistance
Three seniors at Wayne City High School earned academic honors from the College Board. All three have been named National Rural and Small Town Award (NRSTA)
Wayne City High School has announced that Chase Smith is the Wayne City High School Student of the Month for February. Chase is the son of Stephanie Smith and grandson of Neil and Lora Clevenger. At Wayne City High School, Chase has been involved with basketball, track, and cross country on the athletics side of things. He has also been involved in FCCLA, FCA, Apologetix, and Beta Club. In his time at Wayne City High School, Chase has been a state finalist in cross country, a state qualifier in 2 track events, and has been a champion of the Black Diamond Conference in Cross Country. Outside of school, Chase is a member of the Orchardville Church Youth Group.
Wayne City High School has announced that Madeline Boyd is the Wayne City High School Senior of the Month for January. Madeline is the daughter of Misty and Heath Boyd. She is involved in FCCLA, serving as their community event coordinator. She is also involved with Red Ribbon Team, Student Council, Apologetix, Journalism as the editor, History Club, Beta Club as their president, and Honor Society. Outside of school, she is involved with her youth group at Orchardville Church, works at Sweeties and Fusion. Madeline plans on studying business in college.
