Win the ultimate hop country getaway from Bale Breaker

Washington Beer Blog Win the ultimate hop country getaway from Bale Breaker By washingtonbeerblog on May 24, 2021 at 11:57 AM For beer lovers, there is something enchanting about hops. It’s visceral. Hops make us giddy. Even people who grew up deeply immersed in the world of hop farming, like the owners of Bale Breaker Brewing, are not immune. Now, they want to share some of their hop passion with you. (I provide these pictures to motivate you.) Step One: Bottom Cutter. Have you ever witnessed the annual hop harvest up close and personal? I mean, the real deal? The bottom cutters and top cutters, the hop-picking machines, the kiln, the bale-makers, and all that stuff? Probably not. It’s a rare treat that is just about impossible for regular, non-industry folks to experience.

Information about the new mask guidelines, or lack thereof

Washington Beer Blog Information about the new mask guidelines, or lack thereof By washingtonbeerblog on May 14, 2021 at 1:45 PM Imagine a day when that silly image above is totally irrelevant. A day when we don’t have to worry about or talk about all of this mask stuff anymore. Lordy, I am so looking forward to that day. “I do kind of wish it was still black and white,” one Seattle brewery owner told me this morning. “I’m glad we’re moving forward but I can see this being messy.” He was talking about the announcement that Washington will fully adopt masking guidance recently issued by the CDC. That is, fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear masks in most indoor and outdoor settings. Though individuals are not required to wear masks, a business is not forbidden from maintaining its own mask policy.
