Nuclear power plant demo gets green light
The office of the New York Attorney General has announced reaching a provisional agreement with Camden, New Jersey-based Holtec International and its subsidiaries regarding the decommissioning and cleanup of the Indian Point nuclear power facility, which is about 25 miles north of New York City.
The joint proposal is subject to approval by the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) and was negotiated by the state of New York, environmental organizations, Entergy the utility that owns Indian Point and Holtec.
If approved by the PSC, the agreement would transfer ownership of the nuclear power facility to Holtec, which would be responsible for “the swift, complete, and safe decommissioning and remediation of the facility and site,” according to the attorney general’s office. The PSC vote is schedule for May 13, with a public comment period preceding it.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, announced today it closed on the purchase of Eco Waste Services, Inc., in the greater Greenville, S.C., marketplace.
The acquired assets from Eco Waste Services include a hauling facility located at 512 Hood Rd. in Powdersville, S.C., and commercial contracts in Anderson, Cherokee, Laurens, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg counties. In addition to waste and recycling collection, the acquisition includes new construction site service lines of business for Meridian Waste with portable restrooms, temporary fencing, portable storage, and portable offices.
Warren was launched six years ago by former Pegasus Advisors execs Steven Wacaster and Scott Bruckmann alongside former Royal Bank of Canada, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley investment banker Henrik Dahlbeck.
Managing partner Wacaster said, “As a continuation of the strategy we executed in prior funds, WEP III will focus on investing in companies providing critical infrastructure solutions and partnering with talented management teams to build great companies.”
The Florida-based firm has made 14 platform investments since and 48 deals in total, targeting the industrial, infrastructure, and business services sectors
It has tapped Fund III to make two deals already, picking up telecom and utility infrastructure solutions provider ADB Companies and Magnolia River, a provider of tech-enabled underground infrastructure inspection services.
