The fire-ravaged ICU at Vijay Vallabh Hospital in Virar
MUMBAI: Police on Sunday arrested the chief executive officer and chief administrative officer of the Virar hospital where 15 Covid patients died after a fire broke out in the ICU in the wee hours of Friday.
Vijay Vallabh Hospital’s CEO Dr Dilip Shah (56) and CAO Dr Shailesh Pathak (47) were remanded in police custody till Monday by the Vasai court, said DCP (crime), Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar Commissionerate Dr Mahesh Patil.
The duo has been booked under IPC sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 337, 338 (causing hurt by act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life) and 34 (common intention).
