× A FAMILY-RUN jeweller is celebrating 40 years in business - after opening the shop in 1981.
Kingston Jewellers was founded by Peter Kingston after his retirement from a three-decade-long career in the Parachute Regiment.
Peter, along with his wife June and two daughters, Sara and Sally, set up shop in the Victorian Arcade where they have been ever since.
“I took over the business when my parents retired in 2011 after 30 years of running the shop,” said Sara.
“Over the years we have seen many trends in jewellery from the gold chains and earrings in the 80s and 90s to the bead sensation in the early 2000s - whatever it is we aim to keep our customers pleased.”

A STUNNING Victorian arcade is set to have a bright future thanks to a partnership between the new owner and Rossendale Council. Since buying the freehold to historic Trickett’s Victorian Arcade located in the centre of Waterfoot, Lisa Real Estate Ltd has made huge inroads in preparing the building for future use. The landmark triangular corner building has shop fronts on Burnley Road East and further businesses on Victoria Parade with a large vacant space inside and indoor shop fronts that mirror the retail spaces on the streets. It is nearly 70 years since the internal space was used and most local residents have never been inside the building.
