I appreciated mr. Williams perspective on how entertainment is important to our communities in improve our quality of life, especially for those facing gentrification and quality of life issues. But i think im inclined to support the reappointment of miss caminong just given her depth of experience on the Entertainment Commission and her experience in these communities. It would pay for the operations expenses and furnishings for a District Headquarters Office and a Cultural Community center at 229 ellis street. It would pay for the district Public Awareness place making campaign that the district is beginning to undertake, which includes banners, murals, and branding in the district. It would also pay for a district launch party on august 31st of this year commemorating the 53 rd anniversary of the comptons cafeteria rights. It would pay for a transgender tenderloin oral and visual storytelling project to raise awareness for the rich transgender history of the tenderloin neighborhood and it would also pay for aspects of district Strategic Planning and for the development of the report that is required for all cultural districts. She was saying there was approximately 40,000 new individuals for cal fresh, and so is this effort supposed to help with that . Is that part of this contract . Correct, this is seen as just one part of a larger effort. The county department of social services sent some money over to the department of aging saying, how about you help with targeting folks 60 and over. And do an allocation base throughout the state and come up with 66,000 which comes down to us, which is to be used to target older adults, 60 and over , solely recognizing that six a 6,000, and the grand scheme, is not the largest amount of money, but we hope to at least cover some staff time to support the much larger coordinated effort.
