Goaltender Jonas Johansson will get the start in net after being reassigned from the Colorado Avalanche earlier today. Johansson was acquired by the Avalanche on March 21st, 2021 in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He has appeared in six games with the Avalanche this season going 5-3-0-1 in five NHL starts, posting a 2.27 goals-against-average and a .910 save percentage.
Defenseman Dan Renouf was recalled to the Avalanche’s taxi squad today along with goaltenders Adam Werner and Hunter Miska.

The Colorado Eagles will wrap up their two-game series with the Bakersfield Condors on Wednesday night. Colorado is coming off of a 6-2 loss to the Condors on Tuesday.

The Colorado Eagles take on the Texas Stars tonight in the second game of a four-game series. Eagles forward Martin Kaut extended his point streak to six games, as he scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in Colorado’s 5-4 win over the Texas Stars on Tuesday. Fellow forwards Shane Bowers, Ryan Wagner, and Sheldon Dries also lit the lamp in the victory. Eagles goaltender Hunter Miska made 32 saves on 36 shots to improve his record to 3-1-0 on the season.
Colorado outshot the Stars, 37-36 and finished the night going 2-for-5 on the power play. Texas converted on one of its three opportunities on the man-advantage. After Colorado’s 5-4 win over Texas last night, the Eagles have now scored 31 goals during their last seven games, averaging 4.42 goals per contest during that span. The amped up attack has been driven by a concerted effort to put pucks on net that now sees Colorado in third place in the AHL with an average of 33 shots per contest.

Colorado was scheduled to play Bakersfield last weekend, but the series was postponed due to roster constraints impacting the Condors. The Eagles last played March 27th and suffered a 4-3 loss to the Henderson Silver Knights. Colorado earned goals from Kiefer Sherwood, Luka Burzan, and Conor Timmins, while goaltender Peyton Jones suffered the loss in net, making 21 saves on 25 shots. The Eagles outshot the Silver Knights, 45-25 in the contest while going 1-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The Eagles will begin a six-game homestand beginning with four straight games against the Texas Stars. Texas dropped their last game 5-2 against the Iowa Wild and extended their losing streak to three games. The Wild recorded 45 shots on goal in the victory, outshooting the Stars 25-4 in the second period.
