The Colorado Eagles will wrap up their two-game series with the Bakersfield Condors on Wednesday night. Colorado is coming off of a 6-2 loss to the Condors on Tuesday.
The Bakersfield Condors broke open a 2-2 deadlock in the third period by scoring four unanswered goals to defeat the Colorado Eagles, 6-2 on Tuesday. Eagles forwards Cal Burke and Luka Burzan each netted a goal in the loss, while defenseman Matt Abt earned a pair of assists. Hunter Miska suffered the loss in net, surrendering five goals on 32 shots.
Forward Alex Newhook, who was a first-round pick (#16 overall) of the Avalanche in 2019, skated in his first professional game last night against Bakersfield. Last week saw the pro debuts of rookie defenseman Nate Clurman (sixth-round selection of Colorado in 2016) and forward Sampo Ranta who was selected by the Avalanche in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft. Ranta netted his first professional goal with the game-winner in the second period of the Eagles 4-1 win over Texas on Sunday.
