Jawan to cover top to bottom of nation running 4300 kms in 50 days to enter record books
Jalandhar, Apr 6 (UNI) Two legs marathon and the distance is 4300 kms ! In a bid to make it to the Guinness Book of World records, an Indian Army soldier, Naik Velu P, has on Tuesday started ultra-marathon from Srinagar to Kanyakumari and aims to complete huge distance within 50 days. NaikVelu P, an ultra-marathoner, was given a grand welcome by Brigadier V Anand, Commandant and all ranks at Military Hospital Jalandhar on 05 April 2021 on his arrival from Srinagar via Pathankot. NaikVelu P born on 21 April 1991 at Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu) joined Indian Army in December 2011 (AMC).

As part of the nationwide drive, Vajra Corps commenced the rollout of Covid-19 vaccination at MH Jalandhar on Saturday. Lt Gen C Bansi Ponnappa, GOC, Vajra Corps, visited the immunisation centre at the hospital, where 100 healthcare workers were administered the first dose of Covishield vaccine, provided by the Punjab Government through the district health authorities. Interacting with healthcare workers, GOC Vajra Corps lauded their efforts in combating the pandemic.
The hospital has prioritised all healthcare workers, based on the extent of their professional exposure to the risk of Covid-19 infection. All healthcare workers posted at the hospital and nearby affiliated healthcare establishments would be immunised in different phases. The second round of immunisation of personnel receiving the vaccine on Saturday will be carried out after four weeks. TNS

Vajra Corps celebrated Vijay Diwas on Wednesday to commemorate the stellar victory of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan in the 1971 war.
Lt Gen C Bansi Ponnappa, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps, and serving personnel of Vajra Corps in Jalandhar Military Station and other stations paid homage and tributes to the martyrs in a solemn wreath laying ceremony held at the Vajra Shaurya Sthal.
