The Indian Army conducted a two-day exercise in Jalandhar to manage chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear disasters. The exercise, called Vajra Sahayata, involved tabletop discussions on the roles and responsibilities of participating units, including the Army, National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, and Punjab State Civil Administration. On the second day, Army teams were mobilized as "second responders" to a chemical gas leak, validating the state administration s capabilities.
As part of a major training exercise being conducted by the Western Command in Punjab, various formations carried out a series of different field manoeuvres to test their operational preparedness and validate operational concepts.
