Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to workers, who were rescued from the collapsed tunnel after 17 days, over the phone after the operation was declared a success.
41 workers were rescued from the collapsed Silkyara-Barkot tunnel after 400 hours. They are being monitored at the Community Health Center in Chinyalisaur.
The vertical boring to create an escape passage for the 41 workers trapped inside the collapsed Silkyara tunnel has gained momentum with 31 metres of the total 86 covered till Monday morning.
On Sunday, the rescue officials started drilling vertically into the hill above the tunnel and reached a depth of nearly 20 metres on the first day of adopting the new approach, reported the news agency PTI
