A home guard who was dismissed from service for his alleged involvement in the death of a teenaged boy in Uttar Pradesh s Unnao district was today arrested in connection with the case. Two police constables - also accused in the alleged crime - are on the run and efforts are being made to locate them, police officials said.
A murder case has been filed against all of them. We have arrested one accused while the other two police constables are on the run. Efforts are being made to trace them. We have conducted raids at various places to trace them. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty, the police said in a statement.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday extended the partial coronavirus curfew in the state till 7 am on May 31. A decision was taken in this regard following a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Kanpur.
Earlier, the UP government had imposed the restrictions till 7 am on May 24. The Uttar Pradesh government is committed to safeguard the life and livelihood of people of the state. Keeping this in mind, the policy of partial coronavirus curfew was adopted, a state government statement said, adding that the measure gave positive results.

Lucknow: In the view of rising COVID-19 infections in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday (May 15, 2021) decided to extend the partial corona curfew in the state till May 24.
Earlier, the UP authorities had imposed a corona curfew in the state on April 29, which was later extended on May 10 and 17 respectively.
The decision was taken a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a virtual meeting with top officials of the state to review the COVID-19 situation.
