The active cases have increased to 37,10,525 comprising 15.65 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 83.26 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,97,34,823 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.09 per cent, the data stated.

Delhi govt to release Rs 28.24 cr funds for salaries of staff of DU colleges ANI | Updated: Mar 16, 2021 22:50 IST New Delhi [India], March 16 (ANI): The Delhi government on Tuesday announced that it would release the funds amounting to Rs 28.24 crores for the salaries of the staff of its fully-funded Delhi University colleges. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal earlier in the day convened a meeting with the principals and chairpersons of the 12 fully funded DU colleges by the Delhi government. Addressing the meeting, Kejriwal said that the Delhi government will release the funds which amount to Rs 28.24 crores, and the government will only issue funds in the future based on the directions of the court on whether the funds currently available under different heads can be used for salaries or not.
