Double delay for double-decker

The first tender for the double-decker was not finalised due to technical reasons. BMTC received a single bid from Chennai-based OHM Global Mobility Limited, and according to BMTC sources, the bid was for Rs 102.5 per km. However, the tender was cancelled owing to high bids, and BMTC is now looking for bids lower than that.

Three junction improvements planned for Hebbal: DULT

Similarly, the Sanjay Nagar Main Road - Bellary Road junction forms a T junction at the foot of the flyover ramp on Bellary Road. There are two crossings under the flyover located 35 m and 50 m from the junction towards Hebbal, which are 3.2 m wide and 7.1 m wide respectively.

In February 2024, BMTC finally floated a tender for the procurement of 10 double-decker buses under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model. The last date for participating in the tender has expired and BMTC is likely to select an agency soon. “We have floated a tender for double-decker buses and we will be finalising the tender soon,” said a BMTC official.
