Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar said that the talks between the farmers and the Centre were ‘destined to fail’ as CM Bhagwant Mann ‘had everything to gain from the failure of these talks’.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had requested the Centre to revoke the internet suspension. However, the new orders have expanded the suspension to 20 police station areas in seven districts.
The farmers were represented by Sarvan Singh Pandher, coordinator of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), and Jagjit Singh Dallewal, president of BKU Ekta (Sidhupur).
Invited to mediate with Centre by farm unions given his anti-BJP credentials, CM Mann has been nudging both sides towards a resolution, while flagging his own concerns
