If you should be so fortunate to be off on a wednesday, head down the shore, its going to be a nice day. Lets get right to nbc 10 first alert meteorologist bill henley who has the neighborhood forecast. It will be clearing out nicely. A Beautiful Day today. Were still dealing with lingering clouds and fog in the area. The fog is spreading and getting thicker. Dense fog for quakertown and blue bell, light fog in hazleton, half a mile visibility. Not an issue for northeast philadelphia or Philadelphia International but toms river getting some fog. Visibility has just dropped down to under a mile in Atlantic City and under three miles in millville. Thats to start with. The fog, though, will disappear. It has gotten thicker in just the last half hour in the lehigh valley. Thats easton this morning.
Still a little foggy out there. Lets check in with bill henley and the neighborhood Weather Forecast to find out if most of that cloud has lifted. Not yet but it will. That is thick fog in easton. Temperatures will be climbing. The humidity will be dropping. Fog will disappear rapidly this morning. In philadelphia, clouds thin out and well get sunshine by 7 00, 69 degrees. Upper 70s at 10 00. Well warm into the 80s this afternoon. But even though its going to be a warm afternoon, thec humidit will be dropping thanks to the winds coming out of the northwest. The fog will disappear, 85 degrees in the Lehigh Valley. There usually is a big closure involved and a lot of cleanup underway. This is on east hunting park avenue and thats closed for a pretty big stretch. Your best bet for an alternate, you can see with that closure, that big strip of red. There are some slow speeds in the area, but east prairie avenue runs parallel to the scene directly underneath it and that will be just fine for now. Looks like its getting a little bit better in terms of volume. A few minutes ago, it was in the red. Speaking of red, were talking about the plu route, we have rolling work crews moving down the northbound side, creating some big delays. You can see those crews just actually moved through the scene. A 12minute trip right now. Average speeds down into the 20s, in between 95 and route 1 if youre headed northbound. Also the schuylkill, still looking a little bit slow, but this is typical for this time of morning. Eastbound and westbound, doing okay, but those drive times into center city with 21 minutes. Also
A lot of rainfall fell, especially in pennsylvania. Thats where were seeing thick fog develop as cooler temperatures start to move into the area. Visibility under two miles in allentown. Light visibility, not bad. Light fog in coatesville and blue bell. Trenton under one mile visibility and down to six miles in millville. A bit of fog to start with. We have sunshine on the way. 68 degrees, clearing in delaware. Lehigh valley is 64 and its in the low 70s and falling in philadelphia. That temperature will likely come down a bit more before it goes up. Into the middle to upper 80s this afternoon. As skies clear out, the humidity will come down. Any fog thats around first thing this morning disappears as we go through the day. 81 at the shore. It looks like were good for today but there are changes ahead. Mainly dry but down south where it says wilmington in parts of cumberland and salem counties you can see a little bit of a shower thats kind of falling apart at this point as it heads towards route 55. Thats the only rain weve got anywhere this morning. Satellite does show you some cloud cover out to the west and we are going see a mix of clouds and sun today. It will feel a bit more humid today than yesterday and eventually some additional showers and perhaps some thunderstorms could pop up later in there afternoon hours. 72 degrees is your current temperature in philadelphia. 72 in wilmington. 73 in allentown, 70 in trenton and as you take a look at dewpoints it is muggy out there. A dewpoint of 68 in philadelphia. Thats a little higher than yesterday and once you start seeing 70s on the map thats oppressive humidity. Weve got there in cape may and dover currently.
