Clashes broke out between workers of the ruling TMC and the BJP in several areas of East Midnapore district of Bengal ahead of Suvendu Adhikari’s rally in Khejuri on Tuesday.
The BJP workers claimed that they were attacked by TMC supporters when they were on their way to Suvendu Adhikari’s rally. The BJP workers also claimed that crude bombs were hurled at them and several of them were injured.

The stone pelting incident took place just hours after Mamata Banerjee announced that she will contest the Assembly polls from Nandigram.

A huge police deployment was made in the state capital s Mudiali area following the incident to prevent the situation from escalating further.
