The municipal council of Mapusa town in North Goa has banned the sale of gobi manchurian at roadside stalls due to concerns about unhygienic conditions and the use of synthetic colours by street food vendors. The FDA highlighted the use of a sub-standard sauce containing extracts of reetha , an Indian soapberry, which is used for washing clothes.
