cschuldt@nujournal.com An 11-year-old Welsch pony named Flash was extremely popular with the kindergarten students during the Ag Day event. Spring Ag Day returned to New Ulm Middle School Thursday. Students from Jefferson Elementary and the New Ulm Middle School were able to learn about livestock and farming implements from FFA students. Kindergarten students were able to get up close with a two-month-old cow during Ag Day. NEW ULM The Spring Ag Day returned to New Ulm Middle School Thursday with several animal exhibits and farm implements. New Ulm Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor Kelsey Brandt said the FFA students were excited to host the Ag Day this year. Last year the event had to be canceled due to the pandemic. Some additional precautions were taken this year. Students toured the show in class groups to prevent large gatherings but Ag Day was able to continue similarly to past events.
