Vicky leaves ₱105M damage to infrastructure

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 20) Damage to infrastructure caused by Tropical Depression Vicky reached at least ₱105-million, State disaster management officials reported Sunday.
In its latest situation report, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said ₱105.4 million worth of damage to infrastructure has been recorded in Caraga region alone, citing data from the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Vicky also destroyed 83 houses in Cebu alone. Of this number, 62 were totally damaged while 21 were partially damaged.
The NDRRMC has yet to provide data on the extent of the tropical depression s damage to other areas.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 20) The national weather bureau said tropical cyclone Vicky (international name: Krovanh) has intensified into a tropical storm as of Sunday night outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
In its 11 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the eye of the storm was estimated to be 85 kilometers southwest of Kalayaan Islands, Palawan, where the tropical cyclone wind signal has been raised to no. 2. The same wind signal has been hoisted over Luzon.
Vicky is forecast to bring moderate to heavy rains over Kalayaan Islands, the eastern portion of mainland Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon. Meanwhile, light to moderate, with at times heavy rains, are expected over the rest of mainland Cagayan Valley, Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and the rest of Quezon.

+ December 20, 2020 SEVEN people perished during the onslaught of tropical depression Vicky, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020.
Two fatalities were from Eastern Visayas (Region 8) while five were from Caraga (Region 13).
The PNP said one individual from Eastern Visayas was injured while two people from Davao region and Caraga were reported missing.
Agusan del Sur Gov. Santiago Cane, in a radio interview, said three persons drowned while trying to cross a river in San Francisco town.
