As Vicky heads out PAR, new LPA spotted in Catanduanes

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 20) As Tropical Depression Vicky prepared to exit the country, a new low pressure area was seen in Catanduanes on Sunday morning.
In its 11am update, state weather bureau PAGASA said the LPA was located 140 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.
PAGASA weather forecaster Chris Perez said the LPA is less likely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 remains over Kalayaan Islands in Palawan due to Vicky, indicating strong winds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour in the area for at least 36 hours, with possible very light to no damage to high-risk structures.

NTC orders rapid restoration of telco services affected by Vicky
Published December 19, 2020 3:43pm To be able to fast-track the repair and restoration of telecommunication services in areas affected by Tropical Depression Vicky, the National Telecommunications Commission directed telecommunications entities to have technical and support personnel and equipment ready for rapid employment. In its Friday memorandum, the NTC also reminded telcos to have standby generators with extra fuel, tools, and spare equipment ready for use. Additionally, Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging stations were ordered placed in strategic areas affected by Vicky. You are also reminded to coordinate with the LGUs and observe strict health protocols to avoid transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the commission reminded the companies.

Tropical Depression Vicky, which made landfall on Friday, December 18, triggered flash floods in several parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.
A total of 1,525 persons in 13 barangays across Northern Mindanao, Davao region, and Caraga were affected by Tropical Depression Vicky and have sought refuge in 9 evacuation centers, according to the situational report of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday, December 19.
With the heavy rain brought by the weather disturbance, several residents were trapped in their houses and were seen on rooftops following the waist-deep flood in the municipality of Rosario and San Francisco in Agusan del Sur.
