Border guards in the northern province of Cao Bang have caught 13 Vietnamese citizens attempting to enter the country illegally via the Vietnam-China border to dodge compulsory quarantine for COVID-19 prevention and control.
The border jumpers were detected in the border area in Thong Nhat Commune, Ha Lang District early Sunday morning, the provincial border guard officers confirmed.
They were escorted to the Quang Long border guard station for verification.
The border jumpers said they hail from multiple Vietnamese provinces, namely Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Dak Nong, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, and Tra Vinh.

PM approves construction of three IPs
Hanoi - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved projects on the construction and infrastructure development of three industrial parks (IPs).
One of them is the Co Chien IP in Dai Phuoc commune in Cang Long district of the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.
The IP, covering nearly 200 ha, will be built at a cost of 748.98 billion VND (nearly 32.47 million USD), of which 112.35 billion VND comes from the investor.
Another is the 300-ha Tan Duc IP in Ham Tan district of the southern coastal province of Binh Thuan, invested by Sonadezi Binh Thuan JSC with an investment worth 1.2 trillion VND.

“Clean, safe water will continue to be supplied to all city households in every district,” the People’s Committee said.

After a long lunar new year holiday and absence from school because of the Covid-19 pandemic, many provinces have decided to open schools from February 22.
Specifically, students in the northern province of Bac Giang will return to school on February 22, as Covid-19 in the province is under control. Luc Nam Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities will open from March 1.
In the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, students will also return to school from February 22. The heads of specialized training schools decide the time for the re-opening. Particularly, students in Xin Man district – the home to patient 1976 – are going to return to school on March 1.
