Tomah man faces up to 50 years in prison for conviction on 9 counts of child porn May 13, 2021 6:58 PM Mike Tighe MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) – Shannon R. Donoho of Tomah, Wis., faces up to 50 years in prison after a federal jury in Madison convicted him Thursday of child pornography crimes. After two hours of deliberation Thursday afternoon following two days of testimony, the jury convicted the 44-year-old Donoho of seven counts of producing child pornography, one count of attempting to produce child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography. The jury found that Donoho produced child pornography on seven occasions between September 2015 and October 2017 and attempted to produce child pornography on June 28, 2018. The jury also found that he possessed a hard drive containing images of child pornography on July 25, 2018, and that at least one image was of a minor younger than 12.

Tomah names Scott Holum new police chief April 15, 2021 11:55 AM Jourdan Vian Updated: TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) Scott Holum has been named the new police chief of the Tomah Police Department. The Tomah Police and Fire Commission appointed Holum, the former assistant police chief, to the position after the retirement of Mark Nicholson April 9. Holum has been a member of the department for more than 22 years, holding positions as patrol officer, sergeant of police, lieutenant, and assistant police chief. “Chief Scott Holum is excited to represent the Tomah Police Department and the dedicated, professional men and women who work each day for the Tomah community,” said the department in a statement. “Please welcome Scott Holum as the new City of Tomah Police Chief.”

Tomah Police Chief announces plans to retire

Nicholson made the announcement on the department’s Facebook page. “Thirty-one years ago I began my career in Tomah as a patrol officer. My intent at that time included a 5 year plan; start in Tomah, learn and absorb as much as I can from those around me, and after 5 years move on to bigger and better things. After being here for a few years I learned a few things; I didn’t want to go bigger and it was difficult to find a better community than Tomah to live in and be a part of,” Nicholson said. Nicholson took over as chief seven years ago when previous police chief, Wes Revels now the Monroe County Sheriff retired from the position.

Tomah police arrest school employee for sexual assault of a child

Tomah police arrest school employee for sexual assault of a child December 16, 2020 1:33 PM Site staff Updated: TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) The Tomah Police Department reported Wednesday that it arrested an employee of the Tomah Area School District for child sexual assault; however, the assault was not connected to his employment at the school. According to the department, investigators were notified of allegations of child sexual assault over the weekend. Isaiah S. Pesce, 39, Tomah, was arrested Tuesday and taken to the Monroe County Jail on charges of sexual assault of a child. During the investigation, officers learned Pesce is employed by the Tomah Area School District as a bus driver. “The allegations which resulted in his arrest were not related to or connected with his employment with the Tomah School District,” according to a statement from the Tomah Police Department.
