VENETA, Ore. Lane Professional Firefighters Association rallied on Highway 126 and Territorial Highway in Veneta on Saturday. This was organized to encourage the public to vote yes on Measure 20-320. This levy would allow the department to keep their current staffing and add three more full-time firefighter paramedics, said member Katy Johnson. If we are unsuccessful in getting the levy, we have potential staffing cuts in the future.

VENETA, Ore. – A resident in rural Lane County scared off a burglar with a gun on Tuesday, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies arrived to the 84000 block of Territorial Highway just before 3 a.m.
Residents told deputies an unknown man had broken into their house and entered their bedroom when one of the residents armed himself with a handgun and chased the man out of the house.
