You see firefighters putting out hot spots. The reason is because they dont want to go away and have a fire start again. This is a meticulous job being done hundreds of places. The other danger is if you look over there, you will see a house in tact. The problem with that is that is fuel along with all of the other things that have been burned. Should the winds change, have a real big gusting situation, you can get another fire started, it can come right back into town and finish off the rest of this town. Despite of all that, here is pacific gas and electric. Theres a Cable Company as well trying to put these phone poles and wires back up so when people do return to the few home that is are around and as people try to rebuild, there will be power and utilities to do something about it. Were cool down today and livermore running 10 degrees cooler than 24 hours ago. Every reporting station and the bay area says that it is cloudy except for one. And that would be conquered of course, but even livermore has low clouds, santa rosa and san jose. Still some 90s, 3 to 4 degrees cooler, but not enough. The fog bank is not deep enough to help that far inland. I think it will jump up quick with humidity low, and the wind is key, all over the place. Plenty of low clouds, and 28 to 32 wind gusts, and that is the strongest weve seen out of travis in a while. 51 in hillsborough, all pretty close in temperatures. We have a low cloud deck, and there will be another system dropping in that will go directly over us. The sierra has been very quiet, but we will keep an eye on this midweek. Through 90 of the way. When this phone pole falls over f it falls on to something that hasnt burned yet, and there is plenty of stuff that hasnt burned yet, you could have yet another fire. In fact, where we are standing on one side it burned. On the other side of the driveway it did not burn. So the problem here is that you not only have to worry about the fire growing up towards the north to the other town up there. You have the problem that there is a lot of stuff going on here because not everything burned up. It was a very fastmoving fire. Now they have a double problem. They have thousands of people on the lines at all nine of californias big fires right now. This one happens to be the most noteworthy. This is the one where at least in this town, lower lake, its done a lot of damage. It can do a lot more. That is the situation that were seeing here on the ground. The delta breeze has cranked up, the strongest it has been since last week, and san jose sitting at 60, and inland instead of upper 90s, maybe upper 80s to lower 90s, but still warm. Found out that hundreds of homes may have been destroyed in the fire as the flames moved into the lower lake area. Now, it started saturday night off highway 29 and Clayton Creek road.
