KUALA LUMPUR: The number of new Covid-19 cases in the country appears to be on a downward trend as 2,461 cases were reported today

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 2,936 Covid-19 cases and 13 deaths in the past 24 hours,
FMT reported.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 4,889 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 239,971.

He said in a statement that the total number of infections now stands at 277,811.
There are 36,797 active cases with 220 patients being treated in intensive care and 104 requiring respiratory assistance.
The 13 deaths bring the number of fatalities to 1,043.
The new cases today involved 2,919 local infections and 17 imported cases. Local cases comprised 1,572 Malaysians and 1,347 foreigners.
