Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): The Central Youth Organisation (CYO) of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Nagaland, has congratulated Team Nagaland for the “remarkable achievement” at the recently concluded 2nd edition of the North East Olympic Games 2022 held in Meghalaya. “The exemplary performance displayed by the sports persons is truly praiseworthy whereby securing record breaking medal tally compared to the 1st edition held in Manipur 2018,” stated a press release issued by NDPP CYO. Assam secured the second place with 79 gold, 61 silver and 63 bronze, while Arunachal Pradesh stood in the third place with 39 gold, 36 silver and 37 bronze, followed by hosts Meghalaya with 36 gold, 35 silver and 78 bronze, a huge leap from the sixth place in 2018 to fourth this year. Dimapur, Nov. 6 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday officially released the playing kit and jerseys of Team Nagaland for the forthcoming 2nd North East Olympic Games to be held in Shillong, Meghalaya, from November 10 to the 16th. Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) in an update informed that the kit and uniforms have been designed and conceptualised by NOA’s internal design team in collaboration with the design team of Kaki Marketing led by Kakivi Chishi. The theme of Team Nagaland is ‘Stronger together’ and the jerseys depict the art piece of renowned Naga artists Akup Buchem, who hails from Longleng district. Players from Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, representing Nagaland edged past Government Model Higher Secondary School, Chandigarh, 1-0 in the final match played at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi, on Thursday.
