WACO, Texas – Sophomore Ashlyn Anderson recorded a seventh-inning home run but Kansas softball ultimately dropped the series opener to Baylor at Getterman Stadium on Friday night, 7-1.
With the loss, the Jayhawks fall to 22-21 overall and 2-11 in the Big 12, as Baylor improves to 25-15 on the season and 6-6 in the Big 12.
Baylor was able to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning with a single run scored.
Kansas looked to level the score in the top of the third after Tarin Travieso and Haleigh Harper hit back-to-back singles with only one out. Despite getting runners on, KU wasn’t able to get anyone home.
AUSTIN, Texas – Kansas softball tallied a run in each game but weren’t able to stop the Longhorn’s bats as KU dropped two games to No. 9 Texas on Saturday afternoon at Red & Charline McCombs Field. The Jayhawks battled in the first game to an 8-1 loss, before dropping the second game, 10-1.
With the two losses, Kansas falls to 22-19 overall and 2-9 in the Big 12. Texas improves to 34-6 and 8-3 in Big 12 play.
Game One – Lost 8-1
The Jayhawks jumped ahead early after Brittany Jackson hit a single through the right side. Macy Omli advanced her to second with a sac bunt, and Morgyn Wynne took first base after being hit by a pitch with only one out. Shelby Gayre battled through six pitches before sending the seventh into left field for a RBI single scoring Jackson.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – In a Big 12 softball battle, Texas Tech edged Kansas 5-4 in eight innings Sunday afternoon at Arrocha Ballpark. The extra inning contest was the second between the two teams in the weekend series with Tech claiming both wins and the series, 2-1.
Kansas fell to 21-17 on the season and 2-7 in Big 12 play, while Texas Tech improved to 18-20 overall, 2-10 in league games.
Texas Tech junior Yvonne Whaley hit a two-out RBI double in the top of the eighth off KU relief pitcher Hailey Reed to provide the margin of victory for the Red Raiders. Riley Love, who had singled earlier in the frame, scored the TTU run.
NORMAN, Okla. – Kansas juniors Morgyn Wynne and Macy Omli each tabbed a hit for the Jayhawks, but KU wasn’t able to capitalize on any baserunners and fall to No. 1 Oklahoma, 14-0.
The Jayhawks drop to 17-12 overall and 1-3 in the Big 12 as the Sooners improve to 26-0 on the season and 4-0 in Big 12 play.
The Sooners bats were alive from the first pitch as they took an early 8-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Sophomore Tatum Goff started in the circle for KU and was replaced by freshman Savanna DesRochers after pitching 2/3 innings. DesRochers shut things down but OU held an 8-0 lead after one.
