LAWRENCE, Kan. – In the 2021 regular-season finale, the Kansas softball team fell to Iowa State, 12-4, at Arrocha Ballpark on Sunday afternoon. The Jayhawks end the regular season 22-26 overall and 2-16 Big 12 record. Iowa State improves to 31-19 on the year and 6-12 in Big 12 play. On the day, KU recorded nine hits being led at the plate by Jordan Richards who went 2-for-2 with one run scored and by Morgyn Wynne who finished 2-for-4 with one RBI. Shelby Gayre also came in to pinch hit a three-run homer for the Jayhawks. The Cyclones scored four unanswered spread out over the first five innings to jump out to an early lead.

🥎 Wynne and Moore Homer as Jayhawks Fall to Baylor

WACO, Texas – Morgyn Wynne hit two home runs and Lyric Moore recorded one as the Kansas softball team dropped two games to Baylor on Sunday afternoon at Getterman Stadium. The first game was a conclusion of action that began on Saturday afternoon that was postponed due to weather. Kansas had a late rally going in the top of the seventh but ultimately fell, 6-5 to the Lady Bears. The Jayhawks attempted to bounce back in the series finale but fell 6-1 in seven innings. With the two losses, Kansas falls to 22-23 on the season and 2-13 in the Big 12. Baylor improves to 27-15 overall and 8-6 in the Big 12.

🥎 Kansas Softball Set for Series at Baylor

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas softball team (22-20, 2-10 Big 12) will wrap-up Big 12 road action this weekend in Waco, Texas at Baylor (24-15, 5-6 Big 12). The three-game series is slated to begin on Friday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. and continue with a single game on Saturday, May 1 at 2 p.m. before concluding on Sunday, May 2 at noon. The weekend’s games will be available to watch on the Big 12 NOW on ESPN+. John Morris will be on the call doing play-by-play all weekend. He will be joined by Kelly Levesque on Friday and Saturday. Jordan Strickland will join John on Sunday.

🥎 Jayhawks Split Action with Kansas City

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Redshirt junior Sydnee Ramsey and junior Morgyn Wynne each finished the night with two home runs as Kansas softball split doubleheader action against Kansas City on Friday, April 9. The Jayhawks took game one, 11-6, before dropping the evening clash, 8-6. With the results today, the Jayhawks move to 18-15 on the year as the Roos are 18-14. On the day, Kansas finished with 18 hits and 17 RBIs between the two games. The Jayhawks were led by Ramsey and Cheyenne Hornbuckle tallying three hits. Wynne led the team with five RBIs to move her season total to 41. Game One – Won 11-6

🥎 Jayhawks Drop First Game to No 1 Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – Kansas juniors Morgyn Wynne and Macy Omli each tabbed a hit for the Jayhawks, but KU wasn’t able to capitalize on any baserunners and fall to No. 1 Oklahoma, 14-0. The Jayhawks drop to 17-12 overall and 1-3 in the Big 12 as the Sooners improve to 26-0 on the season and 4-0 in Big 12 play. The Sooners bats were alive from the first pitch as they took an early 8-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Sophomore Tatum Goff started in the circle for KU and was replaced by freshman Savanna DesRochers after pitching 2/3 innings. DesRochers shut things down but OU held an 8-0 lead after one.
