Zack Synder Ready to Make ARMY OF THE DEAD 2 If Fans Want It
DAWN OF THE DEAD director Zack Snyder is Ready to Make a Sequel to His Hit Netflix Zombie Action Movie ARMY OF THE DEAD . If Fans Want It.
Netflix and Zack Snyder’s new zombie action epic
Army of the Dead hit this past weekend. And today Snyder says he’s ready to make a sequel – if that’s what fans want.
Look, if there was ever a desire for more Army of the Dead, Shay and I know exactly where the story goes. So, yeah, we’re ready.”
Army of the Dead has utterly hijacked the cultural conversation, with the film rising to the top of Netflix’s worldwide hit list and bum-rushing the vacuum left by a theatrical landscape that hasn’t seen a big blockbuster since
The film, starring Dave Bautista as a mercenary who assembles a crew to infiltrate a casino vault in a zombie-infested Las Vegas, crams a lot into its 2.5 hour run time. This is a film featuring a zombie tiger, commandos going John Wick on the undead and a legion of highly evolved smart zombies who ride around the wasteland on partially decomposed horses.
Movie Review: Zombies, Vegas and a heist, oh my, in OK Army of the Dead
Siskiyou Daily News
The new Zach Snyder opus “Army of The Dead” does a pretty decent job of delivering the gory zombie goods. Although it has some unique things up its bloody sleeve, it does have its share of plot holes that make this an OK but not excellent film.
While technically a well-crafted movie with a good share of frights, gore, and tension-filled action scenes, all the pieces don’t quite add up. As the credits rolled, I felt like something was missing. While I was entertained for the most part, I just felt like it was a bit hollow and lacking depth to really push it into a truly masterful movie. I mean, they try at times to add backstory to some of the characters, but it s things we have seen before and lacks the emotional heft I think Snyder was aiming for.
Zack Snyder is finally home and from the opening credits of
Army Of The Dead you can feel his energy as the beats of ‘Viva Las Vegas’ fill the room (or theater). As flesh-eating zombies are outnumbering casinos and visitors, the camera happily cuts to a group of cannibalistic topless showgirls taking down a man in Jacuzzi. Slot-machines are turned over as zombies ransack the floor on the haunt for blood. But it’s the lopsided wig wearing Elvis impersonator who stares in the camera as pure chaos erupts that makes you know just what kind of movie audiences are in for.
