Movie Review: Zombies, Vegas and a heist, oh my, in OK 'Army of the Dead'
Siskiyou Daily News
The new Zach Snyder opus “Army of The Dead” does a pretty decent job of delivering the gory zombie goods. Although it has some unique things up its bloody sleeve, it does have its share of plot holes that make this an OK but not excellent film.
While technically a well-crafted movie with a good share of frights, gore, and tension-filled action scenes, all the pieces don’t quite add up. As the credits rolled, I felt like something was missing. While I was entertained for the most part, I just felt like it was a bit hollow and lacking depth to really push it into a truly masterful movie. I mean, they try at times to add backstory to some of the characters, but it's things we have seen before and lacks the emotional heft I think Snyder was aiming for.
