Police said the crime occurred after the victim’s family fixed her marriage with a man, who belongs to their community.

Namakkal: Police in Tamil Nadu have arrested at least 12 persons including a BSNL engineer for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl for two years near Kumarapalayam in Namakkal district.
The arrests were made on Tuesday evening by all-woman police. The victim s mother works as a daily-wage labourer, while her father is bedridden due to illness.

Coimbatore: Six juvenile inmates fled from an observation house in Coimbatore city of Tamil Nadu after attacking the warden on Saturday evening.
As per reports, the six minor offenders were housed at the observation house at Lakshmi Mills Junction in Coimbatore. The incident took place after they were taken out of their rooms for dinner at around 7:30 pm on Saturday.
