Treasuring the memories of Hari Raya cards

KUALA LUMPUR – The arrival of the postman during Ramadan in the past was much awaited, as apart from the usual letters, he would also deliver Hari Raya greeting cards from relatives and friends near and far.
But with the advent of sophisticated technologies, the physical Hari Raya cards are being increasingly replaced by electronic greeting cards sent through the social media including WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook.

However, for Masfaridatul Afiza Mohd Ali, 41, from Taman Bukit Mewah, Kajang, the tradition of sending physical Hari Raya cards will always have a special place in her heart.
Residents of Bukit Antarabangsa say they have been protesting against the high-rise development since 2016 but have not been informed on the project’s status.
A RESIDENTS task force in Ampang, Selangor, is urging the local authorities to reveal reasons for approving a development project in an environmentally-sensitive area in Bukit Antarabangsa.
The Bukit Antarabangsa Task Force (BATF) – a coalition of 30 residents’ associations joint management bodies and management committees – said the area was too high risk for such a commercial project.
It is learnt that approval was given by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) for
the construction of several blocks of high-rise towers comprising office suites and a multi-level carpark at the junction of Jalan Wangsa 1 and Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).
