Amendola Adds Signature Series Cannoli Green, White
Amendola Family Cigar Co. has completed its version of the Tricolore thanks to the recent release of the new Amendola Signature Series Cannoli Green and White cigars.
Those two cigars join the Amendola Signature Series Cannoli Red, which launched last December. Both of the new cigars are 5 1/2 x 42 petite coronas. The Green uses a Sumatran wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers; the company describes it as medium to full in body. The White uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper and is described as mild to medium. Both cigars have an MSRP of $9 per cigar and are produced at La Zona Cigar Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
When I heard that Dion Giolito was releasing a cigar for under $4 per stick, I had to order a few to try out. The Cuchillos Cubanos is Illusione’s budget smoke, much like the Tatuaje Series P or the Padron 2000. Each cigar is a 60/40 blend of long and medium filler, albeit is still.
Stogie Road Moving Production to Tabacalera Nuevo Nica S.A.
Stogie Road Cigars will be moving its production to Tabacalera Nuevo Nica S.A., the factory owned by Chris Weber of Veritas Cigars.
Earlier this year, the company said that it was leaving Tabacalera Kafie which made the company’s cigars for two years but didn’t announce where the new home production would be. As it turns out, it’s Tabacalera Nuevo Nica S.A., which was opened in Estelí, Nicaragua in late 2017.
“There will be a longer period of time than initially expected where product is not available except for what is remaining on store shelves,” said Kerry Horney, owner of Stogie Road, in a press release. “The four blends have been reworked, or as I like to say they’ve been remastered and will make for worthwhile wait and experience for our customers. We have not just rebranded our core line but created a new look from packaging to new cigar bands.”
Today was the day… the all-new Tatuaje website launched as well as the official announcement for the newest addition to the Monster Series, “The Face” launched. In total, 21,658 cigars will be available for purchase divided up between 666 dress boxes containing 13 cigars and 1,300 plain boxes containing 10 cigars. The dress boxes will.

Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 3
While the triple cap is nicely applied, this isn’t the prettiest looking shade-grown wrapper I’ve ever seen. Two of my samples also have noticeable water spots the green discoloration you can see in the picture below. It lacks the golden hue that you’ll see a lot on the Ecuadorian-grown versions and instead has more of a mustard color that I associate with the leaves grown in Connecticut. The aroma from the wrapper which is from Ecuador is shockingly sweet and smells like rotten apple juice, barnyard and some red grapes. The foot is medium-full with a mixture of prunes, coffee, raisins and a bit of powered chocolate. Cold draws produce a lot of raisins over coffee and a bit of roughness. It’s medium-full and each cigar has the ideal amount of resistance.
