The SIT completed its probe more than six months after 14 innocent villagers were killed — 13 in a botched ambush by the 21 Para Special Forces at Oting village in Mon district on December 4, 2021, and one during a protest in connection with the incident on the next day. Nagaland police receives 24 complaint calls after closure of check gates, says DGP

Our Reporter Dimapur, June 11 (EMN): As many as 24 complaint calls have made to Nagaland police since the intra-state check gates were removed in an attempt to curb illegal taxation and action taken on all the calls, said Director General of Police (DGP), T John Longkumer, at a press conference on Saturday held at Rhododendron Hall, Police Complex in Chumoukedima. The DGP said that some calls were related to incidents in Larorijan, so they had registered a case and handed it over to the Assam police for necessary action.  He also updated that they recently had a meeting with the chief secretary of Nagaland in regards to application by departments that wish to re-open the check gates, and decision is still awaited.
