PHILIPSBURG: - Prime Minister Silveria E. Jacobs received her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, at the White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation (WYCCF). This is a follow-up after having received her first dose of the vaccine three weeks ago at the same facility due to her close relation to two of their clients.
Prime Minister Jacobs stated, “Today, I got my second dose together with my elderly uncle; My father also received his second dose on Monday among many others. I m happy to have had this opportunity to endorse the vaccine, not solely by mouth but in my actions - leading by example. I encourage all others, especially the elderly and other vulnerable persons, to register as soon as possible so that the most vulnerable remain safe when we are around them. Willemstad/Philipsburg: - On December 10, 2019, a moratorium was set at Girobank N.V. (Girobank), freezing all credit balances in excess of NAf 10,000 on Girobank’s current and/or savings accounts. A large part of these frozen assets will be paid out by GI-RO Settlement Holding N.V. (GSH) in short term, meaning that the majority of Girobank’s depositors will have free and full access to their funds. This, however, is not the case for depositors with a credit balance of more than NAf 1,200,000. These will be paid out to a maximum of NAf 1,200,000.
Withdrawal of the payouts by GSH can be done by transferring the funds to an account at any other commercial bank. Depositors who do not yet have an account at another bank, are urged to open such an account as soon as possible. Transferring of funds can be done through online banking. PHILIPSBURG: - After almost a year of intermittent travel restrictions, Airbnb, the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), and St.Maarten are collaborating to amplify the country s recovery from the impacts of Covid-19 by promoting responsible travel to the destination across Airbnb s vast global community.
As part of this alliance, Airbnb and the CTO are launching a campaign leveraging Airbnb s robust media platforms to market St.Maarten and other CTO member countries to millions of engaged Airbnb users.
The campaign rollout includes a series of email newsletters, a landing page, and ads on social media showcasing Airbnb listings in St.Maarten, as well as the existing protocols for safe travel during this time. The promotional landing page for this partnership will be unique to others worldwide. It will integrate multiple CTO member countries, promote homes in each destination, and links to each country s website.

PHILIPSBURG: - Minister of VSA Richard Panneflek told members of the media on Wednesday during the Council of Minister s press bring that today March 17th marks one year since Sint Maarten reported its first case of COVID-19 on the southern side of the island.
Panneflek said this time last year there were a lot of unknowns with panic and fear seeping into public sentiment.
“No one could have ever predicted how crippling COVID-19 would have been. People lost their jobs, families were separated from loved ones, parents had to learn to balance working remotely while adapting to distance learning for their children, social distancing, hand hygiene, and mask-wearing became the norm,” the Minister said.

This collaboration is designed to amplify the Caribbean s recovery from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic by promoting safe, responsible travel to the region.
As part of this partnership, Airbnb is launching a marketing campaign that includes the rollout of a series of email newsletters and a landing page highlighting the CTO s member countries and their respective protocols for safe travel during this time.
