St Martin News Network - GI-RO Settlement Holding N V Starts Paying out Girobank Balances

Published: 20 April 2021 WILLEMSTAD/PHILIPSBURG: - As previously reported, GI-RO Settlement Holding N.V. (GSH) handles the balance payouts to Girobank N.V.’s (Girobank) customers. In cooperation with Girobank, withdrawal restrictions at Girobank were lifted at the beginning of this week up to a maximum of NAf 1,200,000 per customer (after deducting any due debts to Girobank a customer may have). This means that customers can now access their funds up to the above-mentioned maximum. Customers are requested to transfer their funds whenever possible using online banking and transfer forms. Customers may also withdraw their funds at ATMs. Please note that, due to the adjusted opening hours and limited staffing, transactions may take longer than usual.

St Martin News Network - Large part of Girobank N V credit balances will soon become available

Published: 17 March 2021 Willemstad/Philipsburg: - On December 10, 2019, a moratorium was set at Girobank N.V. (Girobank), freezing all credit balances in excess of NAf 10,000 on Girobank’s current and/or savings accounts. A large part of these frozen assets will be paid out by GI-RO Settlement Holding N.V. (GSH) in short term, meaning that the majority of Girobank’s depositors will have free and full access to their funds. This, however, is not the case for depositors with a credit balance of more than NAf 1,200,000. These will be paid out to a maximum of NAf 1,200,000. Withdrawal of the payouts by GSH can be done by transferring the funds to an account at any other commercial bank. Depositors who do not yet have an account at another bank, are urged to open such an account as soon as possible. Transferring of funds can be done through online banking. Given the current Covid-19 situation, it is not advisable to visit the Girobank branches, being Scharloo or Janwé
