Kristin Cooper of Georgetown was recognized as Sussex County Employee of the Year during a presentation at the Jan. 5 Sussex County Council meeting. Cooper has served as assistant director at South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach since September 2016. She was nominated by fellow employees for going above and beyond to provide quality virtual programs and events even though the library has been closed to patrons due to restrictions posed by the COVID-19 state of emergency.
“The past year has been an unprecedented time, and public libraries have tried to find new ways to serve the community and keep everyone connected in a socially distanced world.
