Look at the basically backup from that morning. Both times they shut down lanes because of potholes and the potholes are caused by all the rain. Caltrans Officials Say this has been one of the worst seasons for potholes they have ever seen and this is one of their worst trouble spots. They do have plans to repave this freeway but they need dry weather for that so for now, they are patching these holes. If you still have an option, today is a great day to stay home if you can.
