I believe in the principles outlined in the law. It is clear section 230, it is not working. Justice Clarence Thomas said the courts had sweeping new protections of 230 that Congress Never put in statute. It is time to scrap the law and start over. Yesterday the new york post, one of the countrys largest newspapers published a piece on hunter biden, and his work on the board of Ukrainian Energy company burisma. She had no qualifications. It is an important story as most americans would be appalled by the press Vice President using his fathers position to earn an enormous contract. The response from many in the media and twitter and facebook bring to light an even bigger concern, the Biggest Social Networks censoring information. If you are a citizen and posted information in the story, your account was locked. Last night Republican House Judiciary Committee posted the story on their website. A government website. The president pro tempore the senate will come to order. The chaplain, dr. Black, will lead the senate in prayer. The chaplain let us pray. Majestic god, your name fills the earth. In spite of our challenges, you continue to rule with your love, wisdom, and power. Grant that our lawmakers may not forget the many dangers, toils, and snares that you have already brought our nation through. Lord, give our senators the wisdom to know that you continue to direct the steps of the faithful and that we have nothing to fear. Spirit of god, arise within our hearts and prepare us for the task of this day. Surprise us again with your ability to transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows doing for us more than we can ask or imagine. We pray in your great name. Amen. The president pro tempore please join me in reciting the pledge of allegiance i pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of america, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under god, indivisible, with liberty
Attempt to advance legislation which would require the support of at least 60 senators. Nearly everyday republicans come to this floor to tell us how much they care about the border, how much they believe in Border Security. And yet, and yet when you have an opportunity ton do something about it, they dont just walk, they runun for the hills. If you care about securing the border than you actually have to pass legislation that secures the border. It doesnt secure itself by itself. Our statutes are updated. Le but because we believe this issue so important, because the American Pe
